A busy week for Yorkshire’s Infantry

A busy start to the Autumn for the Regiment with numerous overseas deployments, an exchange of colours at #2YORKS and more sporting success.  In Oman 30 members of 4 YORKS are part of Kohima Company, a combined ‘enemy force’ comprised of British Army reserves.  In Kenya, #1YORKS Alma Company and Patrols Platoon took on a 2-mile assessment run and the #1YORKS team participated in Ex Cambrian Patrol.

On the sporting front, #1YORKS boxers are preparing for the Infantry championships, sparring at Ex World Champion Antony Crollas Gym in Manchester and the Corps of Drums will perform at the London O2 Arena supporting ‘Friend of the Regiment’ Savannah Marshall in her Saturday Night bout for the undisputed World Middleweight crown.

In Rugby League a number of soldiers from 2 YORKS who have been selected/ played for both the Army Rugby League team/ Development team. Sgt King has been coaching the Infantry Rugby League and has now been approached to be the assistant coach for the Army Rugby League Development Team. Pte Corivuka was selected for the Army’s League 1st Team and played against both the Navy and the RAF.

All the others have been selected and played for the Army’s Rugby League Development Team. First beaten by the Navy then going on to beat the RAF side.
