THE royal YORKSHIRE REGIMENT

National Period of Remembrance

A busy start to the period of Remembrance for the regimental family.

From a battlefield visit to Ypres, to York Minster and the Riverside Stadium, members of the regimental family have been engaged in acts of respect and remembrance, with several more to follow before main effort on Sunday 13th November.

Well done Pte Powell 4 YORKS (Quebec Company) who laid a Regimental wreath at this year’s Middlesbrough FC Remembrance fixture.  Pte Powell was joined by 4 YORKS  LCpl Mckinlay, Melrose and Haddley – to watch the game.

A Service of #Remembrance was held in our regimental chapel in the magnificent York Minster on Saturday 5 November 2022. An opportunity for the regimental family to remember our fallen, and to give thanks for those who continue to Serve our communities, the great County of #Yorkshire and our King.
Burma Company’s successful World War One Battlefield Study of Ypres took place this month. 22 personnel, mostly drawn from Burma Coy made the pilgrimage to the famous city in Belgium. The trip was organised by 2Lt Benzikie and was preceded by a study day in York which included a visit to our Regimental Museum and a chance meeting with two of our D-Day veterans.
